A poem written by a family friend
Moira's Gift
    She brought to her family
    anticipation, and joy,
    and hope.
    They came together
    for cake and gifts
    in her honor.
    And loved her in advance.
    For she was cherished
long before she came to be.
    Days were marked on calendars,
    a room arranged and painted,
    bannered with her name.
    A celebration waiting.
The world is full of hurtful things.
And this silver sparkle of a child
    came and went
    all too soon.
    Such gifts are rare.
Her family will hold her forever
    in their love
    and treasure her time.
And thank her for choosing them.
    For, all too briefly,
    There was Moira.

What is Autism?
Autism is a complex neurobiological disorder that typically lasts throughout a person's lifetime. It is part of a group of disorders known as autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Today, 1 in 150 individuals is diagnosed with autism, making it more common than pediatric cancer, diabetes, and AIDS combined. It occurs in all racial, ethnic, and social groups and is four times more likely to strike boys than girls. Autism impairs a person's ability to communicate and relate to others. It is also associated with rigid routines and repetitive behaviors, such as obsessively arranging objects or following very specific routines. Symptoms can range from very mild to quite severe.

Last Night

Went to see the midnight show of The Dark Night! I was exhausted and sometimes I nodded off just because I was tired, not because the movie was bad or anything. Heath Ledger was AMAZING!!! He really was the Joker, it's just so sad that we lost such an amazing actor!! If you would of told me last year that he was going to play the Joker, I would of never believed it. He just doesn't seem like that type of actor, but he was absolutely wonderful in the roll. This roll could of sky rocketed his career. Just sad.........
